SINGAPORE - Mr Errol Pang Kim Teng, former organiser of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Singapore, died on Monday (June 25) at home. He was 76.
He is survived by his son Daryl and daughters Stefanie and Penelope.
Mr Pang was the president of Derrol Stepenny Promotions, which organised the local pageant from 2000 to 2014. Miss Universe Singapore Organisation B.V.'s national director, Ms Nuraliza Osman, posted on the pageant's Facebook page: "With deep sadness, the Miss Universe Singapore family and organisation send our condolences on the passing of Errol Pang, the former National Director for Singapore. Our prayers are with him and his family in this difficult period." Ms Osman won the title of Miss Universe Singapore in 2002.
According to The New Paper, which co-organises the pageant, Mr Pang was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer this April. His daughter Penelope told the paper that he felt the first pains while rehearsing the father-daughter dance for her wedding celebrations in Hawaii. He did not make it to the ceremony.
The wake is being held at Singapore Casket and the funeral is tomorrow at Mandai Crematorium.
