SINGAPORE - A second American music act in two weeks has apparently been denied permission to perform here.
Indie rock band STRFKR said on their Twitter account on Wednesday (Sept 27) that their scheduled Oct 8 show here has been called off. This follows rapper Coolio's cancellation of his Sept 17 gig at an Formula One after-party.
Aliwal Arts Centre, where STRFKR's show was planned to be held, said its venue was booked and then cancelled by the show organisers Symmetry Entertainment. The Straits Times could not reach Symmetry for confirmation at press time.
According to STRFKR on their Twitter account, they have been "denied entry into the country from the Singapore government due to our positive views on marijuana".
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority had told The Straits Times previously, when contacted about the Coolio incident, that it does not comment on individual cases for reasons of confidentiality.
