TVB shoots for the stars, pulling all stops to draw eyeballs

The broadcaster is pulling out all the stops to draw eyeballs - bringing back A-listers, launching new platforms and joining forces with Chinese investors - while retaining its Hong Kong flavour

The executives at Hong Kong broadcaster TVB are the first to acknowledge that their drama series are no longer king in Asia.

In the face of strong competition from places such as China and South Korea - which have become known for producing lavish as well as critically acclaimed programmes - the grand dame appears to have lost its cool factor for many viewers in the region.
