Tigertail and Sorry We Missed You deal with the challenges of fatherhood

This week, two new films deal with the key contradiction of fatherhood: In poorer families, to be both a good dad and a good provider takes a miracle. Something has to give.

In Tigertail (PG, 91 minutes, streaming on Netflix, 4 stars), an immigrant dad's hardscrabble life has covered him in emotional armour. It shields him from pain, but has cut him off from his wife and is in danger of causing him to lose his adult daughter.
