NEW YORK - DC Comics' Aquaman is the original third-culture kid, a superhero torn between his human and Atlantean origins. This was something star Jason Momoa and director James Wan both connected to - the actor as a Hawaiian who grew up in middle America and the film-maker, a Chinese-Malaysian in Australia. Sitting down with The Straits Times in New York recently, they explain how being outsiders shaped them and their film, which is setting box-office records in Asia.
At almost 2 m tall and tipping the scales at over 100 kg, Jason Momoa is a substantial physical presence.
