Genre: Drama romance thriller

Stars: Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson

What: The film was screened uncut and includes 20 minutes of lovemaking between the leads. The Films Classification Database says it "explores the power dynamics in the protagonists' budding relationship, with an emphasis on the conflict caused by the male protagonist's preference for bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism sexual practices versus the female protagonist's desire for emotional intimacy".

2 SCHINDLER'S LIST (1993)

Genre: Drama

Stars: Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes

What: Contains scenes of lovemaking and frontal nudity.

3 BASIC INSTINCT (1992)

Genre: Thriller

Stars: Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone

What: The Board of Film Censors cut scenes of women kissing and shortened the heterosexual sex scenes.

4 GONE GIRL (2014)

Genre: Thriller

Stars: Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

What: The Films Classification Database says "there are some explicit sexual scenes, such as one at the beginning of the film, where a man is seen going down on a woman, pleasuring her orally as she moans".

What: Love scenes take up almost a quarter of the two-hour film.

6 LUST, CAUTION (2007)

What: According to The Straits Times review, it "boasts what are possibly the most erotic and exquisitely filmed sex scenes".

What: In a 10-minute storyline, a pair of body doubles, played by Martin Freeman and Joanna Page, get to know each other while working naked on a movie set.

10 SLIVER (1993)

Stars: Sharon Stone and William Baldwin

What: The New Paper noted that you can catch a glimpse of Baldwin's rear. It added: "His much publicised frontal nudity scenes and other explicit scenes suffered the director's cut for an R-rating in the United States."
