SINGAPORE - With less than two months to go, Canadian singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr has pulled out of next year's edition of the Laneway Festival.

Citing "conflicting commitments with his songwriting and recording obligations", the organisers issued a statement from Jesso Jr today (Dec 4).

"I'm sorry to let everyone down, and appreciate all of your love, support, and understanding," says Tobias.

The singer also co-wrote When We Were Young on Adele's record-breaking album, 25.

The sixth edition of annual indie music festival will be held at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay on Jan 30, and will feature over 20 acts including Scottish synth-pop trio Chvrches, UK alt-rockers The 1975 and acclaimed Canadian electronic music act Grimes.

Local acts such as Cashew Chemists, Riot !n Magenta and Intriguant also feature on the line up.

Laneway will kick off in Singapore before heading to New Zealand and Australia.
