BEIJING - Pop king Jay Chou will join The Voice Of China as a judge in the coming fourth season, the talent show announced on Weibo today.
Sina website said the show had been trying to get him since 2012, but he was cautious and always felt he would consider it only when he was more mature.
The show said on Weibo: "Announcing the first mentor of the fourth season of The Voice Of China! He is the newlywed Heavenly King Jay Chou!"
The addition of Chou, the biggest star to judge The Voice Of China, is a tremendous coup for the show. Singers Na Ying, Harlem Yu, A-mei and Chyi Chin have sat on the panel in past seasons and coached contestants.
The show is said to be courting more A-list celebrities, including singers Jonathan Lee, Jacky Cheung and Wang Leehom.
