LOS ANGELES - The Expanse, available on Amazon Prime Video, gets top marks from the experts for the plausibility of the science, politics and psychology seen on the show. There are other sci-fi series which have scored well too in these regards.
Thanks to a creative team led by showrunner Naren Shankar, who has a doctorate in applied physics and electrical engineering, the spacecraft on the series move in a way that respects principles such as the conservation of momentum and angular momentum. This is because Shankar was "tired of seeing spaceships fly around like fighter planes in World War Two", he said.
