Super Junior's Choi Si Won and TVXQ's Chang Min to enlist as policemen on Nov 19

SEOUL (KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Two K-pop stars - Super Junior's Choi Si Won and TVXQ's Chang Min - are set to enlist on Nov 19 as conscripted policemen, in lieu of 21-month mandatory military duties, said the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on Wednesday.

Choi is scheduled to enlist after the final episode of the forthcoming drama She Was Pretty, with actress Hwang Jung Eum, a romantic comedy about two friends who meet again and fall for each other after each goes through a huge transition in their lives.

Chang Min is set to take some time off after his ongoing drama Scholar Who Walks The Night. Yun Ho of the duo TVXQ enlisted on July 21.

Choi and Chang Min are tentatively scheduled to be discharged from the service on Aug 18, 2017.

All able-bodied men aged between 18 and 35 have to serve in the military for about two years in a country that is still technically at war with North Korea.
