Streep tells Weinstein not to get her involved

DALLAS • Do not get her involved, an upset Meryl Streep has slammed Harvey Weinstein.

His lawyers are using her statement - that he was not sexually abusive in their business relationship - to debunk other women's claims that they had been harassed.

"The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility and if there is any justice left in the system, he will pay for them - regardless of how many good movies, made by many good people, Harvey was lucky enough to have acquired or financed," Streep said in a statement.

People magazine reported that other stars, such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence, are also named in the filing by Weinstein's lawyers as examples of A-listers who supported the producer or continued to work with him despite his alleged history of sexual assault and harassment.
