Meryl Streep adds heft to Big Little Lies

A fan of the HBO mini-series, Meryl Streep makes a rare small-screen foray and lends more star power to its A-list cast

Big Little Lies was meant to be a limited series, but after debuting in 2017 and sweeping the Emmys with eight wins that year, the drama is not only back for a second season, but it also managed to recruit yet another Oscar winner, Meryl Streep, for its heavy-hitting cast.

Speaking in Los Angeles, the 69-year-old explains why she made this rare small-screen foray.
