Singer Stefanie Sun has confirmed that she is having a second baby.
The 39-year-old posted a selfie on Instagram yesterday, with the caption: "Yes, I am now as fat as two people."
The baby is due in July, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
Sun, who has a five-year-old son with her husband, Dutch-Indonesian entrepreneur Nadim van der Ros, declined to speak to the media yesterday.
But her publicist told The Straits Times that the singer is "in good spirits" and will complete all ongoing promotional activities for her latest album, A Dancing Van Gogh, across Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore until next month.
The gender of the baby is not yet known because Sun is still in the "initial stages" of her pregnancy, but she has already gained 2kg.
Rumours surfaced early this month that Sun had become pregnant last October, but was unaware of it then, Lianhe Zaobao said.
In November, after she caught a cold and cancelled an autograph session in Taiwan, she took to Instagram to shut down baby rumours.
She found out that she was expecting only after she felt unwell during her publicity tour of Taiwan, but decided to announce it to the public only after the first trimester, Lianhe Zaobao said.
In a statement released on Facebook, her production company, Make/Music, and her label, Universal Music Group, thanked fans and the media for their "concern and well wishes as we count down to the arrival of the baby".
The companies also asked the public to give Sun and her family "the privacy they enjoy".
