Singer from girl group SNH48 burnt

SHANGHAI • A member of Chinese girl group SNH48 suffered extensive burns on Tuesday evening, after she accidentally set fire to her clothes in a cafe, the Shanghai police said.

Tang Anqi - the 23-year-old member of the sister group of J-pop's AKB48 - is in intensive care in Changhai Hospital after the accident in a cafe at Baoshan Wanda Plaza, said NetEase website.

The police said in a statement on Weibo: "A woman was having a dispute with her female companion and using a lighter when she accidentally ignited her own clothing."

People around the woman put out the fire and took her to hospital, the police said. The case is still under investigation, they added.
