Silent thrillers

The box-office success of A Quiet Place proves that dialogue is not always necessary to make an impression. The Sunday Times highlights six other works with few or no spoken words

American actor-writer-director John Krasinski's horror movie A Quiet Place is about a family who can survive only if they stay very, very quiet.

So quiet that the film's 11/2-hour running time ends up featuring less than three minutes of dialogue.
