(REUTERS) - Shonda Rhimes was honoured at the Writers Guild Awards with the 2015 Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement.

Scandal star Scott Foley introduced the screenwriter and presented the award to her.

Rhimes said in her acceptance speech: "I continue to be thankful that I live in a country in which powerful women get to do this job and I get to take the fact that being powerful and badass is something that I can just have as my right."
