HONG KONG - Actress Scarlett Johansson showed up to the shoot of the American live-action film adaptation of the Japanese manga series Ghost In The Shell in character on Shanghai Street in the crowded Yau Ma Tei area in Hong Kong on Wednesday (June 8), said Apple Daily.

She wore a black bob to play the lead character, Major Motoko Kusanagi, who will be called Major in the movie by British director Rupert Sanders. Her casting in the film has stirred up a row over Hollywood's "whitewashing" of the manga classic. On Wednesday, she did scenes with Danish actor Pilou Asbaek, who also acted with her in the 2014 thriller Lucy.
