Fourty-seven entries on the Billboard Hot 100, 19 in the top 10 and five that shot all the way to the top.

An illustrious career spanning nearly 40 years saw Prince sell 100 million records while pushing the boundaries of music as a bona fide superstar of the industry in the 1980s and 1990s.

The 57-year-old's sudden departure on Thursday (April 21) was mourned by many, but his music lives on.
