Oscars 2019: Surprise wins for The Favourite's Olivia Colman and Bohemian Rhapsody

SINGAPORE - All the predictions were dire for an Oscars night that was going without a host for the first time since 1989.

It would try too hard to please and as a result become cringey, as happened in 1989, according to some reports. Others felt that sexual misconduct allegations swirling around director Bryan Singer would sink popular favourite Bohemian Rhapsody. For fans in Singapore, it would be a show which they could not watch live, because no distributor here carried it.
