One Direction's Niall Horan to play Singapore show

SINGAPORE - Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan from popular boyband One Direction will stage his first solo concert in Singapore at The Star Theatre on June 12 next year.

The 24-year-old released his debut solo album, Flicker, on Oct 20. The show is part of a global tour to promote the album that also includes other regional stops in Tokyo and Manila.

Horan was in Singapore in July for a private showcase and performed with One Direction at the National Stadium in 2015.

One Direction, which has sold over 70 million records worldwide, went on an indefinite hiatus in early 2016, shortly after they released fifth album Made In The A.M..

The other members have also embarked on solo careers in 2017 - Harry Styles released singles and a self-titled album while Liam Payne has released three singles. Louis Tomlinson has also released singles and is expected to put out an album in 2018. Former member Zayn Malik, who left in 2015, released solo album Mind of Mine the following year.

Tickets for the Singapore show cost $88, $118 and $148 and will go on sale through APACTix (www.apactix.com) on Oct 31.
