NEW YORK • At Sunday night's BET awards by the Black Entertainment Television network, Offset told the crowd after his hip-hop trio Migos had won Best Group: "I thank my wife."

That set fans buzzing, since rumours of a marriage between Offset, 26, and rapper Cardi B, 25, have swirled, but were never confirmed by either of the duo.

After Offset let the cat out of the bag, Cardi B was quick to tweet: "There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself. Getting married was one of those moments.

"Our relationship was so new, breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do, but we were so in love we didn't want to lose each other."

But Cardi B, who is pregnant, could not help adding: "This why I named my album Invasion Of Privacy, 'cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life."

She revealed that "one morning in September (last year) we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin".

The rapper is expecting a baby girl next month.
