Sleeper hit A Quiet Place is an ode to family

John Krasinski, who co-wrote, directed and stars in A Quiet Place, hopes the horror film holds a lesson for his daughters

If you know him as the goofy heart-throb from the sitcom, The Office (2005 to 2013), John Krasinski is not quite who you would pick to star in a horror film, much less one winning rave reviews despite having little dialogue.

The 38-year-old American actor is the first to point that out himself, noting the early scepticism about his new film, A Quiet Place, ahead of its debut at the South by Southwest (SXSW) film and music festival in Austin, Texas, last month.
