SYDNEY - Singapore-born Natalie Ong, 15, was eliminated on Monday (Oct 24) from The X Factor Australia after the first live show of the competition this season. On Sunday (Oct 23), she performed When Love Takes Over, a song by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland.

During the results show the following day, three other contestants were eliminated along with her.

Her performances of Christina Aguilera's The Voice Within and Etta James' I'd Rather Go Blind saw her sail through to become one of the top 12 finalists in the singing competition.

On social media, fans of Natalie were shocked that the singer was eliminated so quickly into the competition, with some even calling the competition "rigged" and hoping for Natalie to make a comeback in a wildcard round.

Some fans have also blamed her departure on the elimination process for the first live show, which saw one contestant from each category getting eliminated.
