NEW YORK • Music producer David Foster has been married four times. So when news broke last week that the 68-year-old had got engaged to actress-singer Katharine McPhee, 34, many netizens were not impressed.

Some asked if it was too soon for them to walk down the aisle. After all, they noted, the couple started dating only last year.

But others noted that Foster and McPhee had not kept their relationship low-key.

USA Today reported that they walked the red carpet arm in arm at the 2018 Met Gala in May.

In March, they showed up together at the Elton John Aids Foundation Academy Awards viewing party.

Over the weekend, McPhee slammed those who did not show any love for her and Foster.

"Y'all should be worrying more about registering to vote and mid-term elections (in the United States) than who's marrying me," tweeted the actress-singer who got engaged during a European vacation.

Foster's former wives include Yolanda Hadid, mother of supermodels Gigi and Bella, while McPhee was married to actor Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016.
