Malaysia-born actress Michelle Yeoh is set to join the cast of the Hollywood movie adaptation of Singapore-born author Kevin Kwan's bestselling novel Crazy Rich Asians, says trade publication Hollywood Reporter.
The 54-year-old star will reportedly play Eleanor Young, the controlling matriarch of a wealthy Singaporean family.
Chinese American actress Constance Wu, of Fresh Off The Boat fame, had earlier been attached to the role of Rachel, the economics professor Eleanor's son is dating.
Director Jon M. Chu (Now You See Me 2, 2016) is helming the movie.
