Teenage Malaysian rapper Bunga stands out from her contemporaries in the hip-hop scene - she performs wearing the traditional Malay attire of hijab and baju kurung.

"I want this to be my identity. I want people to see me in a baju kurung and go, 'Oh yeah, that's Bunga.' I think it's good for both the youth and for the culture," the 19-year-old, whose real name is Noor Ayu Fatini Mohd Bakhari, says in a telephone interview from Universiti Teknologi MARA in Negeri Sembilan, where she is studying public administration.
