Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza shares devastating news of miscarriage

(THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Top Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza announced today that she suffered a miscarriage.

In a post uploaded on her Instagram page, Siti, 36, first acknowledged she was indeed expecting, confirming rumours of her pregnancy which began circulating last month.

"I don't want to deny the news of my pregnancy as this was a beautiful gift that I have been waiting for a long time… This gift was too new and fragile, I was just waiting for the right time," she wrote on her post in Bahasa Malaysia.

"God gave me this gift, I was pregnant for two months and I had a miscarriage."

Many fans sent their heartfelt messages to the singer, while some gave encouraging words.

In Siti Nurhaliza's message, it is clear that she is maintaining a positive outlook on life, thanking God, her husband, Datuk Seri Khalid, family and friends, as well as fans for their support and prayers.

"After taking time to recuperate, I will go back to my daily activities as per normal. I will go to the gym again and attend a few events in Jakarta," she continued.
