MIAMI BEACH • Pop star Madonna professed her love for her former husband Sean Penn again, offering at her charity gala last Friday to remarry the actor for US$150,000 (S$212,900), said reports.

Much of the benefit show for her foundation, Raising Malawi, at Art Basel Miami Beach was shared by her guests on social media, said the People and E! Online websites.

About US$7.5 million was raised at the gala, where she was reported to have sold three black-and-white wedding photos of her and Penn by late photographer Herb Ritts for US$230,000.

As seen in Snapchat videos, Penn appeared onstage with Madonna, crawled between her legs and handcuffed her teasingly, said People.

She was quoted by E! Online as telling him: "I'm still in love with you. Yes. In fact, I think I love you more now that we're divorced."

Speaking to the audience, who included actor Leonardo DiCaprio, comedian Chris Rock, musician Courtney Love, socialite Paris Hilton, reality television star Bethenny Frankel and model Karolina Kurkova, Madonna said she would marry Penn again if he bid US$150,000 for a necklace.

He did, but was outbid.

The former couple have remained friends after ending their four-year marriage in 1989.

In January this year, they went to his Help Haiti Home charity gala together, reigniting rumours that they were getting back together.

She told him then: "I want to say, Sean, that I loved you from the moment that I laid eyes on you and I still love you just the same. I just wish you'd stop smoking so many cigarettes."

Last Friday, she performed at her benefit, singing her hits such as Don't Tell Me and Beautiful Stranger and covering Britney Spears' Toxic, said E! Online.

She also twerked with and kissed singer Ariana Grande, who modelled one of the former's Rebel Heart tour costumes.
