Actress Lindsay Lohan was involved in a boating accident in Turkey which sliced off a part of the ring finger on her left hand.
The 30-year-old had initially shared photos of her ordeal on Instagram early Sunday (Oct 2), but later deleted them.
One showed a bloodied finger, with the sliced-off portion lying next to her hand.
According to celebrity website TMZ, Lohan had tried pulling up the boat anchor and became entangled.
Part of her finger then got sliced off by the anchor as she was struggling to get back into the boat.
Her friends found the detached portion on the boat's deck and took her to a hospital, where a plastic surgeon succeeded in re-attaching it.
Lohan later posted a short video of her heavily-bandaged finger, in which she could be heard saying: "This is the result of me trying to help anchor the boat by myself.
"My poor finger!"
Lohan rocketed to stardom as a teen idol and with films such as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.
She subsequently had frequent brushes with the law and had been in and out of rehabilitation with drug problems. Last year, she avoided jail and was instead sentenced to 125 hours of community service for a reckless driving conviction.
