SEOUL (THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Actor Lee Min Ho is seeking an injunction to stop South Korean face pack makers from selling products called Lee Min Ho's Hempseed Oil Pack, said the local media on Wednesday.
His agency Starhaus Entertainment claimed that his image has been used without his permission, saying: "The packs violated his portrait rights and misleads many tourists visiting Korea."
The wrappers of the packs show an image of Lee from the 2012 SBS drama The Great Doctor.
"Lee took legal action against the companies as the products began to be exported, spreading the damages overseas," said the agency's legal proxy.
The use of his image was allowed by the production company of the drama - a special purpose company that no longer exists - which did not consult his agency, said the media.
