SEOUL - Korean Wave icon Bae Yong Joon has become a first-time dad at age 44, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Bae's actress wife Park Soo Jin gave birth to a boy at a maternity clinic in Seoul's Gangnam district, the Winter Sonata star's management agency confirmed today (Oct 24).

The boy was born yesterday, according to K-pop website Soompi.com.

Bae wed Park, 30, in July last year and they announced the pregnancy in April.
