Korean singer Kim Hyun Ji found dead in apparent suicide with two others

SEOUL (Korea Herald/Asia News Network) - Singer Kim Hyun Ji, 31, who gained fame through music programme Super Star K, was found dead in an apparent suicide along with two others on Tuesday (Oct 27) morning.

The police said her body was found at 3.50am inside a rented vehicle parked at Bokshimsa Temple in North Jeolla province. The bodies of two 33-year-old men, surnamed Ko and Lee, were also found.

Remains of brunt charcoal inside the car point to carbon monoxide inhalation as the cause of their death.

The car rental company was the first to report the case to the police.

Kim gained public recognition in 2009 in the first season of Mnet's Super Star K. In the following year she debuted with a mini-album Everything but was unsuccessful.

She reportedly suffered from depression.
