Kermit to be guest at American Idol

NEW YORK • Kermit the Frog will be a guest at the finale of American Idol this weekend.

The famous Muppet joins other guests, including Nick Jonas, Patti Labelle and Darius Rucker.

The show's three judges - Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan - will also perform.

Kermit will not have stage fright, having performed Rainbow Connection at the Oscars ceremony in 1980 when the song was nominated for a prize.

Last Sunday, Idol host Ryan Seacrest was on less firm ground, caught "flirting" with Perry, apparently unaware that the cameras were rolling again after a commercial break, reported New York Daily News.

"Your mum's pretty... you are too, but you're not a mum," he told her.

"Not yet," Perry replied which spurred Seacrest to say: "Do you wanna talk about it?"

Fans were soon expressing their displeasure online, with one even saying that Seacrest's comment seemed to suggest that he wanted to make Perry pregnant.
