The director did research and spoke to Filipino friends for her award-winning film about life in Hong Kong

When writing the comedy-drama Still Human, film-maker Oliver Chan Siu Kuen had a few goals.

One was to capture the complicated nature of the foreign domestic worker-employer relationship. The other was that the characters had to feel like real Hong Kong people.
