Long-running South Korean variety shows such as Running Man and Infinite Challenge are hugely popular not just at home, but abroad as well. They are fansubbed into languages from Vietnamese to Portuguese and have also been adapted for various local markets.
It is perhaps not surprising that American streaming service Netflix, which has been amping up its production of original shows, would also venture into the genre. And it has done so wholeheartedly, creating a Korean-language variety show with a line-up of top South Korean entertainers.
