K-pop's Wonder Girls confirmed to return as band

SEOUL (THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - JYP Entertainment, home to K-pop star acts such as 2PM and Miss A, confirmed on Wednesday that the Wonder Girls are preparing to return to the stage.

The girl group, which debuted in 2007 and rapidly rose to fame through dance hits including Tell Me, So Hot and 2 Different Tears, will be switching up their style on their next album by performing as a four-member band.

Original members Sunye and Sohee will be missing from the lineup, leaving Yubin on drums, Hyelim on guitar, Yenny on keyboard and Sunmi on bass.

Sunye left the group when she got married in 2013. She has relocated to Canada, where she is now a mother.

Sohee has left JYP Entertainment to join BH Entertainment.

Both Yenny and Sunmi are rejoining the group after releasing solo tracks.

The Wonder Girls wrapped up their music video shoot onWednesday, and are planning to make their official return in August.

This will be their first new album since Wonder Party, which included the hit track Like This, in 2012.
