K-pop girl quintet 4Minute to disband but Hyun A to stay with agency

SEOUL (THE KOREA HERALD/ ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Girl quintet 4Minute is reportedly ready to disband, which would mark an end to their seven years together.

4Minute is Cube Entertainment's first girl group, composed of rappers Kim Hyun A and Jeon Ji Yoon alongside vocalists Nam Ji Hyun, Heo Ga Yoon and Kwon So Hyun.

Cube Entertainment confirmed on Monday that only Kim inked an extension with the agency, while other members are mulling signing a renewed contract for mere months and others are reportedly leaving the agency.

This came after an exclusive report on Monday by Yonhap News Agency quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying that a few of the singers have decided not to extend their contracts with the agency as members of 4Minute.

Their contract s reportedly expired earlier this month.

4Minute debuted in 2009 with the single Hot Issue, and has released hits such as Muzik, Mirror Mirror, Heart To Heart, Whatcha Doin' Today,Volume Up, What's Your Name? and Crazy.

Their latest major release was Hate, the lead song off their seventh mini album Act 7, released in February.

They have released just one full-length album, 4Minutes Left, in their career.
