SEOUL (Korea Herald/Asia News Network) - Shortly after publishing it on Saturday (Oct 29), Park Hae Jin's agency Mountain Movement deleted a post that pledged to battle false rumours surrounding the South Korean actor.
The announcement came after a photo of the actor began to circulate online on Friday, with local reports saying it was taken at a "host bar" - an illegal business where men are known to entertain wealthy middle-aged women.
There is a controversy over the picture as Ko Young Tae, a retired fencer and former employee of the bar, is thought to be one of the three men photographed with Park.
Ko is reportedly close to Choi Soon Sil, the daughter of a religious figure and a confidante of President Park Geun Hye who was allegedly allowed to meddle in state affairs.
The statement did little to quell speculation about Park Hae Jin's association with Ko. Some Internet users commented that the statement failed to adequately deny that the man in the green T-shirt in the picture is the actor.
In the post, Mountain Movement promised to take legal action against those spreading rumours and requested assistance from the official fan community Club Jin's.
Park is filming the upcoming JTBC drama Man To Man.
