LOS ANGELES - Actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard made their marriage official at their home on Tuesday, ahead of their wedding on his private island in the Bahamas this weekend, said People magazine.

Depp, the 51-year-old star of the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies, bought the island, which is called Little Hall's Pond Cay and has been described as a 45-acre tropical paradise, in 2004, said the magazine.

He met Heard, 28, on the set of 2011's The Rum Diary.

The couple got engaged in 2012, after he split up from French actress Vanessa Paradis, 42, the mother of his two children.

Depp, a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner, was married previously to make-up artist Lori Anne Allison.

He has also dated Winona Ryder, his co-star in Edward Scissorhands (1990), and British model Kate Moss.
