Taipei - Newly crowned Best Mandarin Male Singer JJ Lin said he is now ready for love.

At the Golden Melody Awards after-party on Sunday after taking the award, the Singapore singer-songwriter revealed he already has a crush on someone, and now that he has won recognition in his career, it was time to emphasise romance.

"It's in the observation phase. I haven't had time to work on it," he said of his secret crush.

He said the girl, who is not in show business, is among the many who messaged their congratulations following his win.

He said he would announce the romance if they are seriously dating.

Lin, 33, reaped more than a trophy on Saturday at Taiwan's version of the Grammys. He slipped after leaving the stage where he accepted the award, and was on Sunday morning nursing a swollen right ankle.

"I didn't think the first thing I would do after winning was to apply an ice compress," he quipped to reporters.
