Jennifer Garner was not an obvious choice to star in Camping, a new dark comedy from Lena Dunham, 32, and Jenni Konner, 47, creators of the award-winning series, Girls (2012 to 2017).

This is because the actress - who has appeared in films such as Valentine's Day (2010) and Juno (2007) - had not done any television roles since her breakout spy drama, Alias (2001 to 2006), 12 years ago.
