Home-grown actress Jayley Woo has left Mediacorp as a full-time artist, which means that she will take on acting roles with the broadcaster in the future on a project basis instead.
In a press release sent yesterday afternoon, the 26-year-old was quoted as saying that the new arrangement would give her the chance to potentially take on more overseas opportunities.
She said: "Taking a project approach will allow me more flexibility to do different things. I'm taking some acting classes and will focus on improving my craft.
"There are some opportunities to collaborate with China, but it is still not final at the moment. Many things are still in talks and I'm really looking forward to them happening."
Woo, who made her acting debut in the local drama Jump! in 2012, has since become a familiar face on Channel 8 with major roles in dramas such as Have A Little Faith (2017) and Life Less Ordinary (2017 to 2018).
She will next be seen in the Channel 8 drama Jalan Jalan, which begins shooting this month, as well as the English-language Toggle series Glitch in November.
Woo has a twin sister named Hayley, who is also an actress.
