LOS ANGELES - At CinemaCon this Thursday (April 14), filmmaker James Cameron officially announced the release date for not just the long-awaited sequel to his CGI blockbuster Avatar, but a total of four sequels that are all planned for the big screen in the next eight years.
Avatar 2 is slated for a 2018 release, the third installment is due in 2020, the fourth in 2022, and finally a fifth movie for 2023; each sequel is hoping for a December date, likely around the holiday season.
