Jacky Wu's new show to replace Mr Con

TAIPEI • Veteran TV host Jacky Wu is to take over the formidable timeslot left by hosts Kevin Tsai and Dee Hsu when their popular show Mr Con & Ms Csi ends next month.

He will helm a new variety-cum-talk show after Mr Con & Ms Csi airs for the last time on Jan 14, ending its 12-year run, Apple Daily reported, quoting an announcement by CTI Television last Friday.

Although reports said the 53-year-old veteran of shows such as Guess is to host the new show with his daughter Sandy, Wu last Friday said that was still being discussed.

Mr Con & Ms Csi's production team will return to work on Wu's show, which starts taping in the middle of next month.

The producers also plan to have Tsai and Hsu return as guests for the show's launch.

Wu, who is busy with hosting work on Sanlih E-Television's Hot Door Night and Mr Player, has big shoes to fill as Mr Con & Ms Csi has been a ratings hit and cash cow for CTI TV for years.

But he said: "Hot Door Night packs a bigger punch than Mr Con & Ms Csi. At least its ratings are nearly doubling."
