SINGAPORE - Irish alternative rock trio Ash are set to play a show at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore on July 31, their first gig here in ten years.
Made up of frontman Tim Wheeler, bass player Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray, they first made their name as a teenage band in the mid-1990s with their first full-length album 1977, released in 1996.
The band, also known in the 2000s for songs like Shining Light (2001) and Starcrossed (2004), released their seventh album Islands in May this year, a release praised by music website Drowned In Sound as "a slick, confident, emotionally mature and balanced album".
They last performed in Singapore at Fort Canning Park in 2008.
Tickets at $118 go on sale through Sistic on June 28, 10am.
