Hong Kong - Fourteen years ago, pop queen Faye Wong, her teenage boyfriend Nicholas Tse and her young daughter Dou Jingtong formed an unorthodox, makeshift family of three.
On Dec 6, they were photographed together for the first time in years, having a little reunion months after Wong, 45, and Tse, 34, reconnected and started dating again.
The couple arrived at the apartment of Wong's manager Katie Chan in Repulse Bay around noon, said Ming Pao Daily News. When they emerged from the building in the afternoon, Dou, 17, was with them. So were Chan and Wong's assistant. Tse left in his car, and Wong, Dou and their group had tea at the Mandarin Oriental before heading to a hair salon.
Wong is in Hong Kong to celebrate her close friend Carina Lau's birthday on Dec 8.
Dou, a student in the United States, has released a few songs online as Leah. She has known Tse since she was about three and is said to have been instrumental in bringing the couple back together, according to Ming Pao Weekly.
Wong and Tse broke up in 2003. In 2011, he and actress Cecilia Cheung said they were ending their marriage. Last year, Wong and actor Li Yapeng divorced.
Ming Pao Weekly, citing sources, said Wong and Tse got in touch again about a year ago. She had been looking for someone reliable to splice together photos and videos of her two daughters. Her friend, actress Vicki Zhao, suggested Tse's production company. He supervised the project personally and surprised Wong by seizing the initiative to call her.
Later, he was said to have met her in Beijing, around the time she decided to leave Li and needed a friend. But they did not keep in touch after that.
It was Dou who encouraged her mother to rekindle the romance, said Ming Pao Weekly, citing a source. "When the two were dating, Nicholas took good care of Tongtong," said the source. "How could a child not feel it?"
