Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan from popular boyband One Direction will stage his first solo concert in Singapore at The Star Theatre on June 12 next year.

The 24-year-old released his debut solo album, Flicker, on Oct 20. The show is part of a global tour to promote the album that also includes other regional stops in Tokyo and Manila.

Horan was in Singapore in July for a private showcase and performed with One Direction at the National Stadium in 2015.

Horan's solo singles such as This Town, released last year, and Slow Hands, released in May, have reached the Top 10 charts in countries such as Britain, Ireland and Australia.

One Direction, which has sold more than 70 million records worldwide, went on an indefinite hiatus early last year, shortly after they released their fifth album, Made In The A.M.

The other members have also embarked on solo careers this year. Harry Styles released singles and a self-titled album, while Liam Payne has three singles. Louis Tomlinson has also released singles and is expected to put out an album next year. Former member Zayn Malik, who left in 2015, launched a solo album, Mind Of Mine, the following year.

In an earlier interview with The Straits Times during his Singapore stop in July, Horan said he and his band mates regularly stay in touch.
