LOS ANGELES - Opening in Singapore cinemas on May 30, Godzilla II King Of The Monsters is the newest instalment in the longest-running movie franchise in history. Some three dozen films made since 1954's Godzilla, all but three of them by the Japanese production company Toho.

Speaking to The Straits Times in Los Angeles recently, director and co-writer Michael Dougherty, a lifelong Godzilla obsessive, says this latest movie is "loaded with Easter eggs" referencing the original Japanese films and will recall the core elements that made them so iconic.
