Television producer Craig Plestis says The Masked Singer, an American version of a South Korean singing competition programme, is a wake-up call for US reality television

A serendipitous discovery over Thai food - that is how television producer Craig Plestis stumbled on the idea he would turn into one of Hollywood's biggest hits in recent years.

In 2017, he was dining with his family at Khao Soi, an eatery in Los Angeles, when his daughter nudged him to look at the TV screen everyone else was glued to.
