On Sunday night, actress Heather Locklear was arrested after she turned violent against a police officer and emergency-service personnel.
But on Monday, hours after she returned home with bail posted, she had to be warded in hospital after the authorities were alerted about an overdose, Fox News reported.
The drama unfolded when the police received a call after 11pm on Sunday. Locklear - who was among the biggest television stars of the 1980s and 1990s, with roles on Dynasty, T.J. Hooker and Melrose Place - was said to be "heavily intoxicated".
She was also arguing with other people in her California house.
A police spokesman said: "In the process of trying to separate her (from the other people), she battered the deputy. That action caused her to get arrested."
Locklear, 56, spent a night in jail before bail was posted.
The hospitalisation on Monday came in the wake of another on June 17. Then, she was warded for evaluation and treatment after she reportedly threatened to kill herself.
